Graduates of the Linguistics lyceum of Olbia choose the Economics degree

Students graduating from the Linguistics lyceum Gramsci of Olbia have chosen to enroll in business degrees with a certain consistency in the last seven years. The analysis carried out by the UniOlbia Communication and Study Centre on the data of the Eduscopy Project of the Agnelli Foundation, revealed that the percentage of students who opted for this type of academic path was 23.4% in 2016, 22.3% in 2017, 23,8% in 2018, 16,2% in 2019, 15,9% in 2020, 18,8% in 2021 and 20,5% in 2022.

But where did these students decide to continue their studies? According to Eduscopio, the most frequent choice was the University of Sassari, which recorded the presence of students from the Linguistics lyceum Gramsci in Olbia with the following percentages: 42.7% in 2016, 39.3% in 2017, 43.6% in 2018, 50.5% in 2019, 52.9% in 2020, 53.5% in 2021 and 50.7% in 2022.

These numbers show a consolidated tendency for students of the Linguistics lyceum of Olbia to move towards academic paths that combine the language skills acquired during the years of study with economic notions. This in the hope of being able to make the most of these skills in the world of work, especially in the tourism sector, driving the economy of Olbia.

It is the confirmation of the winning intuition of the University of Sassari that two decades ago decided to activate in Olbia degree course in Tourism Economics. Today, with the support of the UniOlbia Consortium, the University of Sassari has, with the Department of Economic and Business Sciences (Disea), three courses, including one entirely in English.
